Down Under : Viviani começou cedo a ganhar

Elia Viviani (Deceuninck – Quick Step)  não deu qualquer hipótese no sprint final da 1ª etapa do  Tour Down Under, mostrando toda a sua classe, confirmando assim todos quantos o consideraram o melhor sprinter de 2018. Apesar de surpreendido pelo alemão  Max Walscheid (Sunweb)  que atacou forte o sprint a 200 metros da meta, o italianio teve forças para o controlar e ultrapassar no momento certo.  Jakub Mareczko (CCC Team)  foi o terceiro classificado.

O italiano “ofereceu ” a  Patrick Lefevere o primeiro triunfo da sua equipa, o que é desde já um bom sinal para o resto da temporada.

Ruben Guerreiro e Ivo Oliveira cortaram a meta integrados no pelotão.
